2026 marks 100 years of women’s golf on the South Shore, and the Women’s South Shore Golf League chose to open its centennial year by looking forward, not just back. Girls on Course was a free, first-of-its-kind golf clinic for South Shore girls ages 5–17 — absolute beginners and seasoned young players alike — hosted at the beautiful Marshfield Country Club.

Grouped by age and experience, participants spent the day learning fundamentals from PGA Professionals and Assistants, playing on-course activities, and meeting the women golfers, coaches, and volunteers who make this sport a lifelong community. Along the way there was plenty of laughter, a few flying clubs, new friendships, and a whole lot of inspiration.
